Where have those wheat fields gone, those orchestras, those astonished Venuses on the beach next to their shells, those charcoal-black cargo ships that were nothing but light, that nervousness, that spirit and that azure; all those bewitching lies, truer than true, that exalted life, nature and especially painting?"
