Produced in small format, the portraits and self-portraits play the game of intimacy, taking us into the very lives of the artist and those close to her. All these faces, restricted to the head alone, without staging or anecdotes, make up a motley assembly of melancholy, brutal or caricatured expressions that observe each other and exchange through the silent interplay of glances.

In the middle of this intimate gathering is an imposing canvas depicting an empty space. Or rather the reflection of an empty space. The viewer may at first be deceived by the illusionism of the representation. What does the mirror reflect? An empty space? A painting by Ra'anan Levy? In this complex composition, which appears as a visual and metaphysical labyrinth, Ra'anan Levy transposes the paradigm of mimetic work and encompasses the entire semantic network of reflection. The very space reflected is marked by a complex arrangement in which logic seems to have lost its bearings. The artist offers a quasi-supernatural vision that is the result of a major deconstruction project that disrupts the viewer's bearings. The canvas is a tool for reflection, where the embodiment of paint and the motif become a reflection of the invisible.
